Julie Hollis is the Head of Geology Department in the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Government of Greenland. Julie received her honours degree in Geology from the University of Sydney and PhD in Geology from the University of Edinburgh. After several years in academia, Julie began her career working in geological survey organisations including the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, the Northern Territory Geological Survey and the Geological Survey of Western Australia. Her background is in field-based geological mapping, metamorphic petrology, geochronology and
isotope geology, and she has worked in Greenland, Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and the UK. In Nuuk, Greenland, she leads a small group of geologists with large ambitions. They are responsible for geological information and advice relating to exploration and mining, field-based geo-scientific projects, and marketing of Greenland’s mineral and petroleum potential.
